This is some scary shit.
I made this website almost one year ago with the goal of starting a blog. I haven’t posted until today, but it has been on my mind a lot. I have been raging internal battles of perfectionism. I would write posts and fuss with them for too long. I would question if I had any value to pass on. But here’s the thing: when your work focuses on embracing failure, finding a playful outlook and self-acceptance, you eventually have to crawl through the fear and just go. So here I am. I’m doing it with an extra heap of self-compassion.
With my list of interests, I’m sure this blog will morph and grow into all sorts of things. I’ll post about mountain bike adventures (perhaps re-working/posting some of my adventures from No Apologies). I’ll share fun yoga stuff (maybe even a video or two). I’ll talk about self-growth, failure, learning and teaching. Expect to see some cute dog photos sprinkled here and there. With so many interesting and amazing things to explore, I’ll do my best to keep it as relevant and on task as possible.
I’d also love to hear from you, so don’t hesitate to say hello or share your stories! Part of my drive for this blog (and for teaching yoga, mountain biking and science) is to highlight the interconnectedness that is the human experience. It is so easy to think that you are alone in your daily struggles and imperfections. You are not. You are not alone in the low times or the high times. Let’s share what it means to be human in this world.
I hope you will find some value here. In other areas of the website, I’ll post my yoga schedule, mountain bike offerings with No Apologies!, Intrepid Failure Project story nights and other important events. I hope to see you out and about in the world and/or hear from you on this blog.
