I am a queer mountain bike coach, yoga instructor, and counselor in training with a PhD in Botany. I firmly believe that we have the power to create our own stories and to shape our own lives. Yoga was my first introduction into building awareness and self-compassion. Mountain biking has taught me how to be courageous, how to learn from failure and how to trust myself. Science has opened my eyes to all the wonder in the world. It has taught me that labels can be misleading and that I am capable of more than I think I am. For me, these lessons come together to make me who I am. I believe that they can be used for anyone. They can be a vehicle to self-growth and self-discovery. I would love to be your guide.
I am involved in many different projects within my disciplines. Please explore them all via the projects tab. I teach mountain bike skills with Peak Sports. I teach wilderness medicine, mountain biking, yoga, and oversee the yoga teacher training program at Oregon State University. Please watch for class offerings or contact me for one-on-one lessons. I just started my counseling internship at Western Oregon University and dream of starting a private counseling practice in 2024.
I believe that the stories we share and hear have the power to change our lives. Because of this, I will share my stories and thoughts with you on my blog. I hope that you can find some inspiration and/or entertainment from them.
